FAIRCORE4EOSC Advances and Challenges Highlighted in Recent Workshops and Conferences
The FAIRCORE4EOSC (FC4E) project wrapped up a busy quarter with significant updates from its recent all-hands meeting in Athens.
From a technical perspective, the project demonstrated progress in component integration and sustainability planning, with key sessions on cross-integration and architecture. Notably, the successful one-on-one speed-dating sessions between case studies and component teams were highly valued and will continue online. Discussions at events such as the euroCRIS conference and PIDfest emphasized advancements in persistent identifier solutions and metadata tools.
On the case study front, teams made strides in integrating metadata components and developing sustainability plans. The Mathematics case study is refining its metadata mappings with DataCite, while the Social Sciences and Humanities team showcased successful integration of the Metadata Schema and Crosswalk Registry (MSCR). The Climate Change team focused on linking datasets with RAiD and DTR, aiming to enhance data provenance. These updates reflect ongoing efforts to address integration challenges and ensure the sustainability of FC4E’s outcomes.
