PID Festival

Mark your calendar for 11-13 June 2024 – for the PID Festival (PIDfest) in the picturesque city of Prague, Czech Republic!

Embark on a three-day journey of enlightenment at this international summit, where captivating talks, engaging activities, and insightful workshops converge to explore the transformative power of persistent identifiers in shaping world-class research infrastructure. This event is organised by the National Library of Technology (NTK) and the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), esteemed collaborators within the FAIRCORE4EOSC initiative.

The overarching objective of PIDfest is to unite global pioneers in the field of persistent identifiers, fostering collaborative solutions to tangible infrastructure challenges that stand in the way of expediting research and innovation. An event of this magnitude promises dynamic discussions, centred on practical strategies for overcoming real-world hurdles in the delivery of research infrastructure.

FAIRCORE4EOSC's PIDMR Session at PIDfest

FAIRCORE4EOSC will be conducting a concurrent session (30–60 minutes) that will encompass and reflect a range of perspectives (organisational, functional, geographic, demographic, etc.), particularly on PID Meta Resolver.

The PID Meta Resolver (PIDMR), one of the FAIRCORE4EOSC's components, is a generalised resolver for mapping items into records. The PIDMR will improve machine-based data processing and will allow getting digital object information without in-depth knowledge of the resolution mechanisms of different PID systems. This enhances the compilation and analysis of data collections from different sources referenced by different PID systems.

Anticipate a vibrant atmosphere where attendees actively contribute to unravelling the complexities of research infrastructure challenges. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the program and registration by visiting https://www.pidfest.org/home.
