EOSC-Core Components
FAIRCORE4EOSC developed nine innovative technical components that form the backbone of the European Open Science Cloud. These tools make it easier for researchers to find, access, and reuse scientific data across disciplines, ensuring that information is truly FAIR—Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. Each component addresses a specific gap identified in the EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, helping to create a more connected, user-friendly, and efficient open science environment.

User-Centric Case Studies
To ensure the EOSC-Core components meet the real needs of the research community, FAIRCORE4EOSC implemented five hands-on, user-centric case studies. Researchers from diverse scientific domains tested the tools in authentic settings, providing valuable feedback that shaped their development. These case studies demonstrate practical applications of FAIR principles, from improving data workflows to fostering collaboration across institutions and countries.

Reports and Datasets
FAIRCORE4EOSC produced a wealth of publications, reports, and datasets documenting the project’s work and insights. These resources provide guidance on implementing FAIR practices, advancing interoperability, and enhancing research workflows. Researchers, developers, and policymakers can access these materials to learn from the project’s experience and apply its findings in their own contexts.

The FAIRfest
FAIRfest was a two-day festival in The Hague celebrating advancements in FAIR solutions for the European Open Science Cloud. With keynotes, technical sessions, and a lively marketplace, it brought together researchers, practitioners and policymakers to explore and showcase how FAIR principles are being put into practice. Held in the unique setting of Madurodam miniature park, FAIRfest also offered participants the chance to experience a memorable dinner surrounded by iconic Dutch landmarks in miniature.

Partnerships
FAIRCORE4EOSC established a series of Memoranda of Understanding and collaboration agreements with key organisations and initiatives. These agreements formalise partnerships, ensuring ongoing cooperation to advance FAIR and open science principles beyond the project’s lifetime. By building strong networks, FAIRCORE4EOSC helps to secure a sustainable ecosystem for research data sharing and innovation in Europe.
